RELOAD JB3 OS?
« on: September 12, 2005, 11:49:05 AM »
My player had its OS erased. I need help to get it working again. When I start my player up it goes right into rescue mode and when I try to reload OS or firmware I just get Update failed messages. Anyone out there help me?

I tried pretty much every firmware update possible and  I am using USB for connecting the unit.

do you have updated jb3 drivers on your pc?  When you plug in the jb3 via usb, is it recognized?   Are you running service pack 2? (I've heard of that causing issues on the nomadness boards...personally I haven't had any difficulties with it).

I would start from scratch, reinstall the jb3 drivers to your pc, and possibly try firewire.

yes the firmwares are located on my PC hard drive. Is there anyway to hard boot this thing and reload it?

Problem solved! Chad nailed it it would only upgrade the OS through my firewire. I was under the impression that it had to be USB. Lesson learned. Thanks all.

glad to hear you got it working. +T

I guess the jb3 is finicky with firewire/usb.  Mine is the exact opposite...can't change firmware via firewire but I can via usb.
