so, i am trying to get my km100s into these shockmounts and there is no way they will fit without MAJOR forcing and then it was almost impossible to get it out without almost snaping the rubber band thingy on the mount. i need some shockmounts for my km100s, should i just get the at8410a ones? +T's to all that reply with nonfluff. thanks!

Jon, you're trying to run full bodies, right, instead of actives? I assume so you can play with your spacing and angles a bit more flexibly than the ORTF/XY/(DIN) bar.
The Shure A53Ms (18.75mm) are nice, but I think too small for your 22mm mics. I know the AT8410a and AT8415s would both work. Maybe the Shure A55HM will work, too?

exactly......
out of the three you mentioned, which are the best?

Never tried the Shure A55HM, so can't speak to those. I've used both the AT8410a and 8415s. Liked 'em both for different reasons. I think because the KM100s are pretty short, they'll work better in the 8410s. The 8415s are a bit more hassle to work with, but I like their form factor better. I vote for the 8410as.

thanks! +T

there is a lot to be said for technique in using these mounts try gently twisting them in XLR side first, it should do wonders.

i tried using stategery, and finally said fuck it, i cant barely deal with it sober now, i would be fucked at a show and i would probably break them before the show even started. thanks for the suggestion, but i am gonna get the ats.
-
Jon, I might be willing to trade you a pair of 8410a's for those a20s if you're interested.
-
first of all, thanks for the tbar, works like a champ!
well, i got 2, but plan to keep one for my ortf bar. so i might as well just return the single one which was 68$, i think those at8410a's are like 50$ each, i am not sure what would be fair.....
-
jon, i believe the a20 will work a little better than the a20s, since the a20 has a weaker elastic. i'm positive that others run the schoeps mounts with the neumann bodies with success.
-
I never like dthe way the at8410a's fit the km100 bodies, the at's are little big... for my liking anyway.
neumann does make shockmounts specifically for the km100 bodies... just a thought. they could be pretty pricey though...
-
hey tim, is that avitar the u89 without the shell or grille?
-
it's the u47 actually... Bri has about 20 schoeps avatars but no u89 avatars... blatant bias if you ask me ;)

OK, just thought I'd toss that one out there and see what's up. I'm looking for something a little less bulky for my rig and the schoeps seem to be the way to go. I'm in no hurry to get them, just saw an opportunity and thought I'd try to jump on it.

i guess i will try those, these damn ground shipping charges are killing me!
-
try to find someone that does it so that i don't cost you more shipping charges...maybe try the oade board as well.
-
hrmmmmmm, that board gets no traffic
-
alright, i just ordered some 8410s.
-
thanks to all! +T

I run the a20's with my KM140's. I hollowed out a big section of the clip so that it makes the clip that's left a bit weaker. It works great and haven't had any issues with the KM's since. I did have to put on the heavier elastic so that it would hold up the mic cable also.
-
sweeet! +T i like it! did you use a dremel?
-
I used a file that was the exact width that you see. A dremel would probably work better and look a little cleaner. My 140's pop right in and out of the clip now. You can also use the active cables and the ak40 capsule fits right in one side of the clip. Works very nice!
