i need a battery sled and both of these links are dead :(
on ebay a battery sled is $45.....

Maybe time to consider the old 4xD-Cell battery sled? Back in the day one of these would run a D7/D8 for over 10 hours.

https://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=185.0 <-- how to build a battery sled, there are also other related d7/d8 battery sled powering articles in the TS archive.

where can i buy one?

from what i gather from your posts, you are using your D8 for DAT transfers, not for field recording
why do you need a battery sled? im pretty sure the D8 works fine without a sled with a 6V input, a wallwart would be your best bet for stationary use

Sony D8 sled is 2 AA on top and 2 AA on bottom
this will not work

hes talking about an external D-cell
your best bet to find the internal sled is to look for a broken D7 or D8 on ebay for parts (the ones i see on there now dont even include sleds). But again, for home use theres no reason to have it.
