A lightning storm took out my soundcard a few weeks back so I'm looking to replace it. I really know nothing about sound cards so any help would be great. I guess the only stipulation would be it has to be 24bit compatible.

I'm not looking to spend much money so if anyone know a good but affordable one that would be awesome.

What's your budget?  For what purposes will you use the soundcard?  Digital transfers?  (in which case you may desire bit-transparency)  Analog transfers?  (in which case you may want an external soundcard)  Digital-out playback?  (in which case it may not matter much)  Analog-out playback?  (in which case you may also want an external card)

Wow Brian, I guess I never thought of all that. I'd just be using it for Digital-out playback.
