I got to admit, if a "audio" manufacturer made one of these, I'd be very tempted!

I guess I'd rather see them remove all the crappy phantom, gain, eq, compression, usb streaming, etc... and just provide 4 channel digital in at no less than 16/44 (preferably 24/96). Then I'd probably be interested.

If that could *record* four tracks, I'd be interested.

My guess is that it inputs four tracks, but records only stereo.  Most "mixer" type interfaces (Behringer, Fostex, etc) do that.

If anyone knows different, please let me know!

16-bit, 44kHz max... I think I can stay away from this.

Here is the problem I have with this thing. I think if you tried to write 4 tracks at once with an ipod it would choke. I would say the Ipod is good for doing stereo recording there is enough of a buffer in the ipod for that but try throwing 4 tracks at it and I am quite sure it will fall on its ass. When you compare what it would cost to purchase a new 4 track recorder that is SD based from Fostex or any one of a dozen different companies it would end up costing you more when you add in the cost of an ipod.

Just my two cents.
