Hello,
I'd like to confirm whether the AT831b is a monaural (mono) microphone. Additionally, I'd appreciate knowing if the microphone listed on the website [URL: https://soundprofessionals.com/product/AT831-SP/] is identical to the AT831b.
Best regards,
Pieter

Yes it's mono.
SP removes the factory termination. From the factory I'm almost positive that they are terminated in a mini XLR connector for use with the AT8521 power supply box.

Information from the manufacturer:
https://www.audio-technica.com/en-us/at831
"AT831b: 6' (1.8 m) permanently attached cable terminated with TA3F connector; AT8531 power module (with 80 Hz high-pass filter) for battery or phantom power."

Thank you for informing me.
I'm looking to purchase a mono mic at SP, either the AT831 or AT853, with the intention of plugging it directly to my Marantz PMD620 using the 5v PIP. Unfortunately, I currently don't have enough $$$ for a stereo pair.
My plan is to edit my mono recordings later in post-production to create a pseudo-stereo effect. With this in mind, should I order the mono version or the dual mono version?
Best regards,
Pieter

I would look around for a used pair of AT853s, which pop up in the yard sale here pretty frequently and which will make you much happier. What's your price limit?
