Title: ART Phantom II
Post by: mattb on January 23, 2004, 12:27:04 AM
Saw some of these cheap (ebay and elsewhere). It says they will run on 2x9v batteries but not for how long. Anyone know anything about these? Do they sound OK (which for a power supply should be like nothing)?

zzounds.com has them new for $49.  i would guess depending on your mic load, that at a load of 4ma i would say that with the 2 9v's. they might last bout 20 hrs...  thats a guess. i have a phantom box and the manual says it lasts 50 hrs on 2 9v's at 4ma, but i'm taking into account 2 mics..   so cut that in half...  yea.. thats what i got..  i'd say go for it.. cheap way to power mics..  good luck.. peace.

I have one of these I'd sell pretty cheap if you'd like. :)

I ran it for 2 shows with an ad-20 and a pair of ADK LEs.   I got only one show out of the batteries but that was using the cheapo bats that came with the unit.

Anyone know if it takes 9 or 18 volts then? I was thinking of making a RC battery setup so it would be nice and easy if it wanted 9v.

BCostigan - did you not like it or had you just gotten something better?

I'm thinking about doing the AT933 mod and would need some phantom power if I did. I had a PS-2 but sold it with my Oktavas a while back.
