Title: Testing Microphone Frequency Response

Does anyone know how I might go about testing the frequency response of any microphone?

 noise generator, spectrum analyser and a calibrated source, in an acoustically suitable environment

you definitetly need something that can analyze the noise spectrum.  There are programs used in analyzing rooms for the sound systems being used.  If you have the spec sheet of your mic already, it should be shown already.  Your mics will have different responses when using different types of testing noises - pink, brown, gray.
An example is SMAARTLive, but there are some others as well.
