Title: EAC pointers or tips
Post by: ts on February 08, 2023, 07:05:34 PM
Finally getting around to ripping my collection of commercial stuff. Using EAC and have it set to rip to flac. Any thing else I should know? I wish it was faster.

I typically set mine up to rip straight to FLAC as well and to align the naming convention with however the rest of my music is named.

Set up an offset if your drive has one, set up gap detection, and use accurate/secure rips.

I just googled a tutorial and found this on datahoarder: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/i9wurd/exact_audio_copy_eac_setup_and_ripping_guide/

YMMV but LOTS of guides all over.  My biggest tip is that once you are done with all of your tweaks and your tests all come out great then go in and make sure to save your config profile to use later.  When you save it type the EAC version # into the file name so that you know which version it is a save file for.

Thanks for the info and link. Looks like the only issue I'm having is cover art. It won't let me copy/paste or drag/drop. Wants to connect to a data base and nothing happens. Also need to figure out track naming for CD's like Dave's Picks.

Album Art Downloader:

I paid $7.99 for a lifetime subscription to the GD3 database.  I am unsure if they still offer lifetime packages or not.
