just curious what ipod format are most using?
and why?
part 2
i use aac @ 128
and was wondering if this would be good for trading/ swapping of music files instead of flac or shn??
thnaks nate
I use AAC compression just because it's the itunes standard codec, they are relatively small files and IMO don't lose *too* much of their original sound quality during the conversion process like mp3's typically do.
I have most of my shows in itunes in aac format, but I always keep a flac data disc and use that for sharing/trading/seeding. The aac files never get circulated.
You'll find that alot of people on this board are against the practice as well, just for the purpose of keeping the gene pool free of shows that have been stripped of their original sound characteristics. Circulating the orignal wavs/flacs/shns is not that much harder, even though they do take up more hard drive space, not that big of a deal IMO.
