of a 24 bit unedited wavs. I have them tracked out and archived on DVDa. Can I get them back on hard drive without the EAC step?

did you save 'em as wavs on the dvd?  If so, they're data files and EAC is unnecessary -- simply copy 'em back to your hard drive via my computer/windows explorer

Should just be able to stick the CD in and drag & drop.

Yep, they're saved as wavs in 24bit on DVDA. Thats why I thought the EAC was needed, since they are not flacs. So when is EAC needed?

EAC is needed for redbook format CDs.. but not CDs with actual ISO file systems.

eac is only needed when converted to an audio file .cda i think

the real question is this:  how does one properly extract audio data from DVD-A discs?  EAC doesn't do the trick.

we're not talking about data stored on DVD media, but an actual playable DVD-A.  the content is written as .AOB files, if memory serves.

Right... I forgot about the conversion..  I'm trying to read the dvd-audio tools website but it seems slow today..

So it looks like they are not wavs. I burned them using DVD audio creator. Any ideas on how to get them back to wavs and on my hard drive once again?

The dvd-audio webiste I linked above has a mailing list. There should be quite a bit of expertise there.

Thanks. I found a reverse tool in DVD Audio Creator and got them back as wav files from VOB's
