pk files for 24 bit wav files in audition?
« on: March 31, 2007, 11:10:17 AM »
When I open up a 16 bit wav file, it creates a peak file, which drastically decreases the time it takes to open the wav file a second time.  Is there any way for it to create peak files for 24 bits?   Thanks in advance!

Audition creates PK files for 16-bit and 32bfp files only.  You can save your 24-bit files as 32bfp if you want PK files, and Audition will zero-fill the least significant 8 bits.  Just gotta remember to truncate those least significant, zero-filled 8-bits if doing anything to the file later.  Kind of a PITA...and one of the reasons I switched from Audition to Samplitude SE.

Thanks Brian  +T   I ran the R4 for the first time last night for Eastern Blok (Goran Ivanovic)
