Hello board:
Taped as usual since 2018,  24/48 external mics, file size 2G, KINGSTON 16GB MicroSDHC I grade 10
last night this problem showed up:
Start taping, gig ends, press the stop/power/home button for example recording ends at: 1hour 15mins 26secs.......all freezed, freezed, hold button works, the only way to is to take out a battery and re-start all works, the recording was not saved.
Format the card quick mode (5 secs moreless)
Format the card full mode (reels on screen keep on turning for several minutes and stay like that), take out the battery and re-insert it, turn on, message appesars BAD CARD INI, press yes normal normal screen appears.
Havent updadet the system,
Messed card? if yes...... can be fixed?
Anyone with the same problem?
Thanks!

Well, first, the recording, or at least part of it, may have been salvageable even if you didn't see it on the card. I would not have formatted the card.

First thing I suspect is a bad card. If it is a bad card, I wouldn't trust it again.

@vanark I know you're extremely busy but i was searching the other day for freeware for this kind of recovery & only found dated (pre-2020) reccs; do you have any advice for current software for checking such SD cards? Thanks in advance!

vanark:
I'm on my phone, so limited in what I can find for you. I would search the board for photo recovery tool. I'm not sure the name... It may help identify if any files are able to be recovered. Hopefully someone jumps in to provide you with some more guidance. There are a number of threads on this topic.

vanark:
There are some links to data recovery tools in this FAQ thread, but if you do a search you may find more recent topics:

Photorec is the tool that appears to be most recommended. If you search specifically for that on the messageboard, you will find about 20 threads. I've never used it, but others have.
