Software to check integrity of MP3?
« on: March 14, 2005, 09:28:43 AM »
Hi all,

I know this is not directly taper-related, but I need a program that checks the intergrity of my files when I've converted them from wav to MP3, and possibly in the receiving end, after distribution.
I've found links to a shareware called MP3check, but the links are all defunct. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jan

What kind of integrity check are you looking for? On the distribution side, there's the md5 algorithm, which should be good for your purposes. However, I'm not sure what kind of integrity check you're looking for in the wav>mp3 stage. An mp3, by its nature, destroys the integrity of the wav file that generated it.
Out of the game … for now?
