Title: Utorrent 3.0 showing a socket error when trying to dl a torrent from etree.org
Post by: Drgiggles1 on April 02, 2012, 02:38:57 PM
I am receiving the error on any and everyone from etree.org only. The exact error in the client says "an attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions". My OS is Windows. Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe provide a screenshot & which version of windows - but this smells like an Internet Security software that's blocking uTorrent from accessing a TCP socket. Can you use it for torrents on sites other than etree.org?

The problem is only with etree, DIME, TTD, YEESH, HC, all fine. I just figured it out that the culprit was peerblocker. After disabling it etree is fine. Now I got to figure on how to configure etree into peerblocker so I don't have to disable it. But right now thats a miniscule issue. At least now I know what the problem is.
