I always experience some drift over longer recordings.  I've used a MD recorder, two different iRivers, a Sony D50, and laptop.  It's usually not more than 1 second or less over a 60-90 minute recording.  That's not extreme in my mind and seems to go along with most expreiences I've heard.  With Vegas it's very easy to correct with no quality loss.
