viata file merging help
« on: October 26, 2007, 08:30:54 AM »
so i need a program that will allow me to merge 2 tracks into one. i just started 24 bit and am running vista home premium. the wavelab that i have does not seem to be compatible. so any help as to how i might merge this track together where the 2 gig split was would be great.
thanks

And, yes, I know I suck about getting stuff circulated.  ;)

dave

there is not gonna be a way around the 2 gig limit.  what we all do is edit each file, track out in cd wave then paste the two tracks together where the file split (in wavelab).  or if for now you just want the 16 bit tracked etc....

do all editing in 24 bit.  then resample, dither (in that order) all the files.  then you should be able to paste them all together as one 16 bit file to track.

edit:  it's not a vista thing or wavelab per say.  it's a windows thing in general.

I had the same problem when I changed to Vista and bought the new R4. A fellow ts member turned me on to Vegas and SF and w/ the two once you get used to them its real easy to merge your files and edit. Check your pm's for info.
