So for "fun" I decided to hook up my battery pack to the UA-5 (reverse polarity) and oddly enough it powered up and the phantom power light is on. Sadly I don't have a spare cable to power that and my recorder at the same time or else I would test it all out.
So what are the potential problems of running a 9v dc device with phantom power (known to run on 7.2v) on 5v?

I see in your (tgakidis) profile that you have the same type of UA-5 that I'm running. No doubt you can test this in a more professional manner than myself
