Title: Best Li-Ion route for a V3 and a 2k.
Post by: Jhurlbs81 on January 16, 2007, 10:25:30 PM
So with the uprgade to the 2k, I must replace my lead with Li-Ion.  What's my best bet?  My V3 is currently set to 6v.  Two DVD batts? One for each? I see a 5400mAH can be had for 40 beans..

What's the volatage on the 2K?  The V3 is either set to run on 6 or 12V.  It really is the same, it's just a calibration inside so that the low battey indicator works.  You may also want to check out this thread http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,78206.0.html

I have been running a V3 on one of the 9V Wallys, and it is running fine, and according to that thread, is not an issue.  Need to know what the 2K needs to run.

The AD2k is 12V.  Two of the DVD batteries in series would work if they have a 6V setting otherwise you could use a voltage regulator to drop the 18V down to 12V.

The AD2K+ will run on any voltage between 12v - 18v. So any Li-ion in that range will work.

I would consider getting your V3 reset to 12V, instead of 6, and that way you can have just one battery system to contend with.

Ballpark ideas on total batt life with a V3 & AD2k running off a EC-90?

Thanks,
