The ring does push back and you can get a male locking to female regular connection, although I wouldn't rely on it (especially without tape to hold it in place)
why would it be any different than a reg. 3.5mm connection ?
It would seem that it would have a solid connection...the connector would just have a skirt.
It's either in or not in.
Unless they made the shaft smaller or narrower.
But then it wouldn't have a secure connection even with the correct mate.
It should be adhering to the 'standardized' size.
I don't see why this wouldn't work well on all 3.5mm female connections. (without the threaded mating)
