Title: 1.2 vs. 1.5 volt batteries in MP3 player
Post by: jlykos on January 21, 2004, 11:58:22 AM
OK, so I just bought this MP3 player off Ebay.  It is the Archos Jukebox 20.  I bought it because the description said it can accept AA batteries.  I look at the instruction manual and it says to only use the Archos rechargeable batteries, which are 1.2 volts each.

I am assuming that I can use the MAHA Powerex 1.2 volt rechargeables as well in this, as they are the same voltage.

My big question in this is can I use alkaline or lithium 1.5 volt AA batteries?  Will I be doing any long-term damage to the unit if I do this?  I have to use four of them in the unit; will the extra 1.2 volts (0.3 difference x 4) harm the unit?
