9 volt portabel rechargable UA5 battery with lots of accessories:

Thats pretty sweet it comes with a cig adapter for in-car charging.
You'd have to hack the output cable in order to hook up yer UA-5 tho... :-/

Looks like it is the same oem as the wallmart battery lots of us are using, but the car adapter plug makes this one a better deal.
Plus the added bonus of not giving Sam any $$.

The wallmart battery's capacity is 5,200 mah (5.2 ah) -- this one lists its capacity as 39Wh (watt/hours?) -- any idea of whether one has a greater capacity?
Also, the wallmart battery's charger puts out 12v (and the charging regulator is built into the battery). Would be pretty easy to rig up a cigarette lighter adaptor to charge the wallmart battery if that's needed.

The walmart one is roughly 50 watt hours.... IIRC the math for watt hours is capacity x voltage drawn. So, assuming the UA-5 draws a perfect 9.6v line (untrue, isn't it less?) 9.6 * 5.2 = 49.92

Another one, more expensinve, but with built in charger and 6500mAh capacity...

Cool that it's 9/12v switchable, but that's too expensive.

Batteryspace has a 5Ah (I think) 3-12v switchable external LiION battery pack for DVD players...

the battery's capacity in Amp-hour would be 39Wh divided by the rated voltage (9v), which is a bit over 4.3AH. the Walmart one has larger capacity, though.
