Eco Charge model SC-61 charger....dead?
« on: December 17, 2005, 11:07:38 AM »
Has this happen to anyone before? I went to charge one of my 6V and when i pluged it in the green light comes on but it never switches to the yellow charge light. I thought maybe the light wasnt working so i left it pluged in.I checked the battery that powers my DA- P1 and the battery is totally dead. wouldnt charge it. Is there a fuse inside of these things? or is there another charger i can buy from ratshack to charge this battery?. Im sure there is without having to send it to Eco or pay a huge amout of money for a new one. thanks >:(

Pick up a new PowerSonic PSC-61000A for around $35.  It's the charger that EcoCharge puts their sticker on and calls an SC-61 (if I'm thinking of the right part).  Otherwise, check out the other PowerSonic chargers and find one that suits your needs.  Oade was selling a smaller one that worked well with 6v 7mAh batteries, but maybe less ideal for large batteries like 12mAh.

Oh... well, almost the same advice - get yourself a 6v 7mAh battery like a PowerSonic PS-670.  That one goes for around $15, or similar ones can be found for less than $10.  BatteryMart.com has one for $8.95.

Take an exacto knife and you can take the plastic top off and replace the SLA battery and then just a couple drops of epoxy will hold it back on the new battey
