rip cds directly to flac ?

Is there a program that gives EAC type quality/ control to rip cd's directly to FLAC  maintaing the tracks (ie not one long flac)

EAC can do this. Look under compression options for flac.

Well, yes and no.
EAC Rips incredibly well and makes great FLAC files.

However, because CD isn't compressed WAV, it is extracted as WAV, then compressed using the codec for either MP3 or FLAC by EAC

I endorse it as well as CDWave for slicing WAV files.
Both programs have been here for a long time, and do a great job at what they do.
