always be sure to actually convert the sample rate, i learned the hard way that if you just try to save a 48 or 96kHz file as 44.1kHz it will let you do it it will just sound like its in slow motion.. its not as noticable going from 48>44 than as going from 96>44.
In Wavelab follow these simple steps:
1.Do any normalization, gain change, fade ins/outs, or any other editing while still in 24/48.
2.Convert sample rate 48>44 (don't save yet)
3.Dither: UV22HR and hit render (now save it, no need to save twice.)
