JB3 question (not covered in FAQS)
« on: October 18, 2005, 11:09:06 AM »
I have an offer from a guy to pick up a nonworking JB3 really cheap...According to him, when it turns on it goes to the emergency screen where you can pick 1) cleanup, 2)Format All, 3)Reload OS, and 4)Reboot.  What could cause this?  Is it anything major or should it be a pretty easy fix?  I first thought that maybe he needs to upgrade the firmware or something but Im really not sure.  The thing is I don't really want to mess with it before I buy it because if I do he will just keep it.  Should I go for it or no?

Go for it. Even if it is totally screwed (which I highly doubt - a simple "Reload OS" would likely work), if it's cheap enough just getting an extra JB3 battery would be worth it.

He told me that there may be something wrong with the harddrive...If this was the case, how cheap could I get a new one?
