Does Oade ACM PMD-660 Allow SBD Recordings?
« on: February 12, 2007, 07:06:03 PM »
Pretty simple question I gues...but can you still make SBD recordingas if you have this particular mod done to the unit?  Would you still just run XLRs off the board into the unit with Phantom turned off?

Just curious because it says on the Oade page that this mod disables the line in/out feature.

Also, does the 48v phantom seem to work with most condensers?

I'm interested down the road in this unit unless something else shows up here n the next 6 months or so.

you can run XLR into the 660 for SBD recording and as far as i know the phantom works for all mics that require up to 48v.

48v is usually the max necessary to power condensor mics, just make sure not to turn on the phantom power if you are plugged into the board.
