Title: DIY AC cable
Post by: Nick's Picks on January 02, 2006, 07:41:32 PM
I had the wire on hand, so that was a large lack of expense.  otherwise, less than $20 for the Hubble AC plugs delivered.  A little teflex for fun.  ...and viola!  high end AC cable.

the stock started life as Gregg Straley custom jumpers for my VonSchweikert VR4s.  I canabalized them, unwound and then rewound a 3 strand 30" cable.  This copper he uses is pretty fat stuff.  I know it sounds amazing.  So it can conduct!.
I just got a Monster mht3500 condition w/their "stage 3" condtioning level.  not sure what that is...fluff, no doubt.
I'll be feeding the Sony3000es a nice clean AC signal w/a nice new cable, and we'll see if their are any results to report in audio/video performance enhancement.
I'll LYK.

fwiw, the monster I snagged is easily had under 2 bills, so this could be a great upgrade to anyones rig for short money.  they say clean AC is where its at...especialy for digital amps.  I'm sure this rig isnt all that, but its certanly going to be an improvement over my livingroom circuit.

Class D amps love balanced power as well!
