Title: How do I hook these up?
Post by: MattD on September 17, 2007, 07:02:45 PM
I have 4 of each of these for my speaker cables. I know the one with the black housing is a banana plug. What is the other? Is that meant to plug into the amp end or is that a biwire jumper? If the latter, they stick out pretty far from the speaker terminals. I am way confused as to how these things hook up.

Thanks for any help.

They are both banana plugs.  The one on the right is a newer design.  The fins are there to provide a tighter fit.

Yeah, the new ones are nice.  If they ever get loose, you can tap the tip slightly to "fatten" the fins out a little...  I still prefer bare wire contacts though...

I used the small ones on the amp end and the newer ones on the speaker end. Both fit very well. In fact, I'd say the amp ones are more snug.

+T for the help.
