amp suggestions for my new speakers?
«
on:

i just purchased a set of martin logan preface speakers which will be here early next month. i now realize i need a real amp to power the ML, rated at 200w @ 4 ohm. i did go over my budget on the speakers so i need to find a cost effective solution for my amp, even if its just a tweener amp until i can get something better next tax return(baby steps). i do want something to properly break the ML's in and satisfy me for the next yr. is there such a thing as a bad way to break them in? i see tons of old stuff on ebay but have no idea what to look for or what to stay away from. im totally fine with a third-hand amp for now as long as it fits the bill.
budget = value menu
all suggestions are welcome. TIA

I use a QSC 1100 in my new playback. It is 100w and it powers my 200w rated Design Acoustics so loud the ductwork in my walls rattle...
I got the amp from a vacant building we own, but I saw one at guitar center used for $50. Not bad for a professional stereo amplifier...

Second the suggestion on Adcom. When I did sound, I had a rack of these babies and they are cheap, sound great and are built like a frigging tank.
My stereo system has Adcom electrics and Vanderstein Speakers and Subwoofers.
