That's the standard price, you can buy it direct from Oppo as well. The BDP-83 (not SE version) is just $500. Here is OPPO's recommendation,

Anyway it gets rave reviews in the audio mags. I have had an oppo player for a few years now and it's a great little machine, run into my Bel Canto DAC it sounds phenomenal. Run analog out it sounds much more expensive than it's $180 price tag.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this based on my experience with Oppo and the reviews I have read.
