"Ask the Tapers" - which is somewhat vague - and even more confusing - the forum is called the same thing...?
Not sure what all the confusion is about. The
very first thing users see, at the top of the screen, upon logging in: the
Start Here! section. In which resides the
Where to Begin forum. In which resides a clearly labelled thread
Getting Started: How do I make my own recordings?. It doesn't get much easier or inviting than that, IMO. And FWIW, I added a little blurb about soundboard recording to the Getting Started thread.
maybe when someone signs up for the board, they get an email with links to commonly asked questions in it...
Agreed, this has come up before - we plan on providing direct links to the Where to Begin forum and some of the threads therein. I suspect, however, the intro email will go the way of user manuals: no one ever pays attention to 'em. At any rate, we're working on it.
