Windtech clamp - good for balcony?
« on: May 14, 2005, 04:54:43 PM »
I've been reading about clamps today and wonder whether this one will work with balcony rails?
Or will I need a Superclamp?

Depends on the clamp.

Add-on good for clamping to stands only.

Multi-position C-type I've used for smaller railings but not as stable as SuperClamp.

Haven't used the others.

My first thought was to go with the Superclamp but B&H did not appear to have the extension arm. Is the arm vital?

the extension arm is for some reason not with the Super Clamp accessories, I just went through this last night actually. It buried down in one of the lighting accessories categories

i dont think you will need that for the abb in o-town... if its the same show as tampa they are playing with skynyrd and i would assume it will have to be a stealth job.  i will be stealthing on the 21st in orlando... mofro  is playing for free in downtown but the promoters are not allowing open taping.  >:(

Fortunately, it's not the double bill show with Skynyrd. I'm probably going to skip the Tampa show, even though it's closer to home.
Orlando is "An Evening with the Allman Brothers."

not a stealth job, the abb policy overrules, thought he skynyrd peopel will walk aroudn durng their set and make sure you arent taping it...

as for the arm...it opens up alot of options with the superclamp, really makes it tough to find a situation where you cant clamp effectively
