I've seen a few other people on here who use MD and I wa curious what brand you all liked. I tried Memorex once and seemd to have a lot of skips. Switched to the Sony golds and haven't even had a hiccup.

i like the sony golds
-
Sony gold are great, as are the TDK gold.
-
Sony 80 min golds all the way! Those Memorex pieces of shit are real pieces of shit.
-
ftr - 80 min discs won't work in my MS722's, so I only use 74.
I"ve used:
Maxell both normal and color
Memorex both normal and color
hispace
sony gold, color, and normal
jvc color
phillips color
tdk gold ice normal
etc
shit, a lot of others, quite frankly i think i've tried everything out there and i'm fully partial to the sony colors. they're the only disc aside from the TDK ice that have never defaulted on me once and as well they are cheaper than the ice.

I used to run minidisc and i would do live recordings in a set up studio environment and the memorex would skip like hell. It was horrible.
Memorex=BAD
-
I have never had a problem with the memorex 80 min white cd's, acutally like them a lot. Now Maxcel, there is some real dodo.
I also like Fuji, Kodak, Verbatim, Sony
-
hehe, yes, we are talking about mini-disc brands, not cdr's like i just listed
-
this is such a wierd subject to me...
I use the "anti-skip".."anti-shock" Sony mds and got skips. I used the Memorex 80 min clear...no problems.
The ONLY time it seems I had problems:
1.excessive movement of md unit
2. re-use of a minidisc
call me crazy...that's my experiences though. not opinion.
here's my opinion...mds seem to be just like cdrs in a sense...the really cheap ones (I have heard) cause problems...for the most part...the regular name brand ones are good to go.
-
sony only man.. nothin better as far as MD goes to me.. golds or colors, i gerally use colors.
-
I use the sony colors
-
cheapest place to buy MD media?
-
Probably Best Buy. They usually have the Memorex cheapies for $20 for 10 and 5 packs of the Sony golds for $13. When I was still using my MD I bought 5 packs of HHB minidiscs from Cascade Media for $10 per 5 pack but since Cascade is here in town I didn't have to pay for shipping.
-
so MD media is about 2$ each? wow, more exp than dds tapes per min. how long with MD last constantly erasing them and rerecording on them? are they like floppy, or tape or more like cdrw or more like hdd material?
-
Supposedly you can record and erase over 1million times. Although I doubt anyone has tested this.
-
I never use them more than once.

niiiiiiiiiice!

I have two blank MDs that I record music every day to listen to in the gym. I have had them for years and have recorded and erased probably over 200 times on each one. They still function fine.

well, i just spoke to michael grace today, he said he will be able to do the word clock/toslink mod to the v3 in about 4wks. i am on the list for it. also, he said that the batt light should come on at 5.75V, not 5.9V that mine is set for. he said that the V3 can take a voltage as low as 5.2V at which point it will cut off. but that batt life will suffer dramatically if you take it down that low. he told me how to make an adjustment on it and it is pretty easy. i would like to go toslink to MD as a dat backup from the V3, i really wish that the nomad thing would work. ohhh, yeah, he also told me that the firewire mod will be ready in about 7months, so that looks like dec/jan!!!!

TEAM SONY all the way!
