Title: Cheap-Transitory options of phantom power

HI, i have an UA-5 that it's died and a friend is trying to return to live...but while this happen I am planning to buy a cheap option for phantom power like this for now
(of course, I'm still waiting for the option of buy a MP-2 but I am the second on the list)

I read any experiences about Art II but nothing about s-phantom...anybody know how could work those cheaps options? Or any recomendation of another cheap-transitory option?

I'm planing run this betwen AKG 1000 and R-1

You could simply run the AKG C1000S on internal batteries.

OK, it's an option, but i would suppose that the results with phantom power are more better that only play with internals.

for a temporary option, I'd just run on internals.  I taped my first year or so akg c1000s-> D7 on internal batteries.   There's no reason to buy a phantom power unit, especially if you think you can get the UA5 fixed.  If you can't get it fixed.. buy another (There's plenty in the YS)

if you do happen to get a phantom supply, id go w/ the samson over the art for the simple fact that we have an art in our circle of pittsburgh and excahnging the batts isnt the easiest option, howvere ive never heard the sampson one

i have cheap stewart phantom supplies that bagtag GAVE to me and they sound pretty good w/ my mics
