Edirol UA-25EX
« on: June 24, 2008, 06:53:14 PM »
Here's a new version of Edirol's USB preamp, the UA-25EX,
now with snazzy aluminum case.  No word if it will
replace the UA-25, or how much it will cost.

Supposedly yes (I think someone on here got one to work, but I'm not sure if they had a lappy behind it or not). After the UA-5, edirol produced a series of software driven USB/Firewire devices.
"This is a common practice we have on the bus; debating facts that we could easily find through printed material. It's like, how far is it today? I think it's four hours, and someone else comes in at 11 hours, and well, then we'll... just... talk about it..." - Jeb Puryear

As you can see here UA-25 original, no power-in.

The EX has a ground lift which is a nice improvement, I have had ground loop issues with a UA25 before.

So, what's the difference between 96R and 96P?
Socks are overrated.

So, what's the difference between 96R and 96P?

The original UA-25 USB1.0 could only handle one-way traffic at 96 kHz, so this is to set the mode.

The latest uses USB2.0? so has the bandwidth for duplex.

Brochure is up here for the interested...
