You can borrow mine if you would like to try them, I am not using mine at the moment.

edit:  If you are set on DIY, the silver venhaus recipe is always well reviewed.

Also check out Signal Cable.  I sold some hifi to the guy who runs that operation, and he's really pleased with the sound of his cables--and they're cheap.  I still haven't tried one  :-[

I always used to use Kimber PBJ.  You can find those cheap on a'gon.

I have a pair of vampire type IV silver/OFC ICs.

You are welcome to borrow them if you want to try them in your system

They are very clean.  Not warm like the cardas but not strident like some silverplated copper is reported to be.  They are slightly brighter that the MIT shotguns I have but not in a bad way.  I never noticed that they had an effect on the soundstage.  Just clean signal transfer.

My problem with analyzing wire is that I bought different wires to play around with, so I have some nice ones but different manufactures.  Swapping means tweaking just one link in the chain and not all links at once.  So I can't comment that Vampire Wire has some signature sound the way I hear the MIT wire, where I have enough to cover the entire path.
