i wish i could use a demo and see if i like it that much :)

the 4GB file-size limit is KEY IMO

Samplitude runs circles around it as far as being intuiitive, having better SRC/Dither Options, better multitrack capabilities, stock plugins are awesome, and Object based editing.(editing a virtual representation of the file, not the file itself, so the original is never touched...and all effects are in real time..no "render")

there is a legal version of samplitude for 45 bucks on www.samplitude.com,. and a legal demo of V8 on http://www.samplitude.com/eng/seq/demo.html

Just got my v9 upgrade..happy camper here.. ive tried all of the DAW software, and Samp/sequoia are supreme, imo..

I wish there was a legal demo of v8 SE.  If there is, I couldn't find it.  I know I could d/l the full v8 demo, but I'd prefer to demo exactly what I'm considering buying, rather than sift through which features apply in SE and which don't.  I guess since SE only costs $45, they figure there's no need for a demo version.  They're probably right.

It says 49Euro, which is more, right?  (I don't know the exchange rate).

What are the differences between "SE" and "professional".  Also, I wonder why we're buying V8 when V9 is already out ???.  It sounds like another way to pay more money to get to V9.

Yeah, with tax it's ~€55, which comes out to ~$75.

They have a handy comparison table for the different v9 options, but I've not found a comparison table for v8.  So I haven't yet figured out the v8 SE / Pro differences.  As for why v8 when v9 is out, looks like SE is only available in v8 and not yet available in v9.  Maybe I'll just wait until v9 SE becomes available.   :hmmm:

ah..I see, Brian...

There are also versions of v8 on ebay from time to time(legit, legal copies) for around 100-150 bucks. MacDaddy just bought one. Actually..i think I may have SE around here somewhere..a german firm was giving them away last year as a promotion.

Richard..V9 *just* came out so they probably havent developed the SE version for it yet.

and if you buy v8..it is a lot cheaper to go to V9...they lose money....so they dont really gain anything.

http://www.samplitude.com/eng/pdf/sam_se_productinfo_eng.pdf .. there is the SE PDF.

AH for one of you chaps..

here is

http://cgi.ebay.de/Keys-05-2006-Samplitude-V8-SE-Rupert-Neve-Portico-etc_W0QQitemZ140039185736QQihZ004QQcategoryZ46976QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the magazine that SE came in(the promotion i was talking about)...and it still has the unopened software inside..only one hour left and the auction is under 20 USD...

i can middle man for you(recieve the package and ship to you) and /or bid if you want. and the other man can have my spare copy of SE..
