Yes, it will work... But you will have to convert the BNC to and RCA.

I had the same issue with my MiniMe.  I bought a nice 75 ohm digital cable and cut off the end.   Then soldered on a female XLR.  Works great and no need for the impedance transformer...

no it won't. the aes out on the minime is a pro output. even though it is stepped down to 75 ohm only PRO decks can take the input. d3/d7/d8/d100 are all consumer decks.

So 75 ohm is not 75 ohm is what you are saying.  Once a signal is stepped down, why would it not become a consumer type feed?  I am gonna e-mail Gary and see if there is a way around this, because the flaky coax connection sucks!

A pro signal contains extra information that is not carried in a consumer signal.  Changing the cabling will not remove that extra info.  Consumer decks do not recognize the extra info, and therefore do not accept the signal.

SCMS... only prodecks can take it, consumer decks will say copy prohibit.

a test would be a waste of time, it does not work with consumer gear... it's just that simple.

As for a "way around it"... perhaps apogee could rewire the output for you, but I doubt that they would. The V3 has 1 aes output that is set for PRO at all times and a second that is switchable between pro/consumer.
