Wavelab error detection
« on: May 04, 2005, 05:31:44 PM »
Anyone use this?  how should it be set up?  I just transferred a DAT and decided to try this function out, though i had never used it before.  It stopped after getting through about 25% of the file and said it had to stop because it had detected too many errors (over 1000).  now, the beginning of the set hasn't had any audible errors that i can find.  it suggested that the settings may be too sensitive.  is this utility even worth running?

I assume you are talking about the glitches under the errors tab in global analysis.  I jack the threshold up to 67 and the sensitivity to 80.  I'm still playing w/ the numbers to figure out exactly what is audible.  If you leave it at the default it finds all kinds of shit that isn't audible.

Oh...I also change the max number of points to like 50 and then create markers and go check them.  It will definitely find an audible error if setup correctly and is worth running IMHO once you figure out the settings.

thanks mitch, i'll give those settings a try...i normally just try to listen to the shows i seed for errors, but i missed one on the 10-28-00 seed and had to redo it so i'm trying to be more reliable.  we'll see how it goes.
