the pause on the D100/M1 shuts down after 5 minutes (I think it is) of not being engaged.

if you can't change a tape in 5 minutes you have problems :P

edit: speaking of the V3 mine is en route to my house as i type 8)

I agree with this, but realize, the decks have to be setup serially, once I start the 2nd deck, that will be the deck catching the remainder of the show.  As a result, when the first one runs out of tape, it will shut down

i thnk he saying pause the first deck, change it's tape, then when the second tape runs out you chan change it while the first one is running.

that would create three tapes...My hope would be to only have 2 tapes after it is over...

Sooooo...how does one change the tape in the first deck (through which the signal flows to the second deck) while it's in Record/Pause mode?

nick;

why can't you run 2 decks from 2 of the 4 digi outs from the v3?

bnc>s/pdif > one deck
s/pdif > other deck.

bnc? that's the word clock out isn't it?

Unless you've had it modded to an opti out.  ;D

my bad... one out from AES>coax > deck the other from s/pdif>coax>deck.

what's wrong with having 3 tapes -- all of the solutions mentinoned below (aes>spdif cable, adaptors, splitters, etc.) are going to run more, $$$-wise, than a third blank dat.
