Have you tried reinstalling the original cd yet?

I've been on my computer for an hour plus and I can't get my JB3 drivers installed. I've deleted all previous drivers and jb3 software and I can't intall using my original installation cd.

what could give me problems installing a jb3 driver now? I had no problems before.

let me know also how the $20 notmad works out if you go that route. I may have to at this point.

I'm still stuck. I tried installing Notmad explorer trial version but it won't work without the drivers installed correctly.

I'm totally screwed. :P

Silverbullet, what error messages are you getting?

You've uninstalled the drivers completely?  When you do a reinstall what error do you get?

What "Windows Tweaking" for your sound card have you done?

If your JB3 isn't up to the most recent firmware it might be an issue?  I finally bit the bullet a while back and updated to the most recent firmware.  Perhaps people with issues have an earlier firmware and are trying to run the most up to date driver/softwares?

Anyone running 1.32.x have any issues with this new software?

Cayman and other, note in their requirements section for the software:
For NOMAD Jukebox 3 users only, driver version 1.04.06 (JB3_Drv.exe, dated 27 Aug 2002, 935 928 bytes) or later installed on your computer

Make sure you meet the requirement, as it might be a problem if not.

I had the latest firmware 1.40.06.

the tweaking I did was the 20+ list for windows posted somewhere. Anyway, I looked over it and untweaked my computer but that didn't help. I was on the phone with Creative Labs for a fair amount of time. He suggested to perform a clean boot in Win XP but that didn't help me either.

Strange that I can't install or reinstall even my old driver from the installation disk. I must be overlooking something but can't figure it out. I'm just short of formating everything and starting over but I'll give it some more time in case someone else fell and got out of this same trap.

there error that I'm getting is "an error occurred while setting up the driver" and it doesn't get more specific than that.

Have you tried installing the latest drivers at all?

Gotta love those vague errors :-(

Yes, I even tried installing the last two drivers offered on the net from Nomad.

If caymanreview doesn't run into the same problem then it must be a freak thing on my computer.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

Did they have you try manually deleting the driver files?  I know in win2k they get copied to C:\WINNT\system32\drivers where they remain and are automatically called upon if found.  They can make reinstalling difficult.  Once you delete these copies you can try reinstalling again.
