iRiver H140/H120 Power?
« on: October 05, 2004, 02:16:05 PM »
I'm considering using one of these units as a backup to my DAT. What I would like to know is what are folks powering these with in the field? The DC input is 5V 2A, which leads me to believe that a 6V SLA is going to kill it. Anybody got any ideas?

don't know on the external power issue, but it was my understanding that these don't reliably record a digital input (relative to a jb3)

has this changed?

it runs on 5v so you should be able to  make a batt pack at radio shack really easily...

or any of the PDA back up options will work

Which means what? Unless there is an audiable difference in what my DAT has on tape and it, it shouldn't matter.

well, the iriver does not record the bits of data correctly via optical in

it is OK via line in,but then yr using the irivers onboard A>D

via optical in it has pops and noise every few seconds...

Well, that blows!

Also makes me reconsider what I want to do.
