Is this a single box recording solution?...    Will it record loud shows?  Will it drive my LSD2 and sound great?

it not like I don't know about it... but people are still using high end preamps as front ends... I want to find out if this box... (from someone who has one) is enough to do our hobby. (and do it well)

The short answer is, "yes it is".   The long and better answer is in those search results.

Don't interpret the use of other front ends to mean that the 722 is lacking.  People like the sound of different combinations.
