i searched and did not find anything (did i miss it?) but i'm looking for what's ts top rated for a player.

currently i'm using poweramp as a trial and it seems to be good for my needs.

anyone have a different favorite?

I tried a bunch and settled on GoneMAD. I'm by no means a power user, just wanted a solid player that could run on an old phone and it's been solid for the last few months (no bugs or crashes).

^ I second this app. I think it was $3-4 to register it after the trial period. It works well with FLACs.

thx, i'll try it next. checking out rocketplayer.  although it does not seem to have a + gapless feature.

Gapless support was baked in to the Android OS at 4.1:

I think the native player is gapless, so you could always try that first and see if you like it.

I use folder play. But not on android, yet it is supported on that platform.

Another endorsement for GoneMAD - by far the best I've used.
