use reg zoom or digital zoom on camcorder

i can leave the digital zoom off or can use digital zoom 40x or 200x.......what is the pros and cons..?....

Digital zoom is terrible,i think it would only be useful for capturing a bank robber fleeing a bank etc.Turn it OFF and leave it off.

I second that.
I NEVER use digital zoom.  It's only good if you want grainy video.
