thanks to Voltronic for the tip, I am a Savior Clamp convert.  No going back.

Here's my Savior clamp at Tedeschi Trucks / Wang Theatre Boston, clamped to the chair leg (11th row) with a Manfrotto articulating arm and a Matthews baby extension.  Gets me to something higher than head-height, which is higher than they usually allow anyway.

Very clever setup!

Welcome aboard Team Savior Clamp! One of us! One of us!

Very well done indeed!  I've yet to need to clamp to someone else's seat.  Also I'm 100% on team Savior Clamp, my experience is that it is far more versatile than the Super Clamp
mics:  AKG c480b (x4) + ck61, ck62, & ck63; Schoeps cmc6 + mk4
pre:  2 x Oade m148, 1 x Oade m248
recorder:  Zoom F8n Pro; Oade Hi-Def mod Tascam HD-P2

Any complaints from the owner of the seat you're clamped on? How much clearance between the rig and seatback do you achieve? Any movement when they sit down?
