« on: December 29, 2024, 12:40:55 PM »
Can I power two Schoeps CCM 41 microphones with the phantom power of a ZOOM F3 or do I still need a RiotBox or something similar?

Yes. The F3 provides P48 phantom power for (2) CCM41s just fine.

Thanks for the kind help.

As long as you have a box that provides Phantom48 you are fine.  Just make sure you have it engaged.  Any pair of mics into an F3 is about as easy as it gets.  Record > Hold ... come back after the show.

Simple question, simple answer. No need to get all snarky about it. Now do you get it? Bob(who doesn't know everything but isn't afraid to ask)

Just be careful on powering F-3.  Likely will need an external batteries or at least lithiums.   All doable but don't go to a festival expecting Duracell AA's to last all day.

Good question and actually only issue is rge u for likely available in other posts.  Look forward to the recordings.

You will likely need a power band over 2 hours, maybe less.

^^ yes.

FYI if you are planning to buy new mics, the CMC1 + mk41 draw less power than the CCM41 I believe.
Either way, plan on battery swapping or power bank after 2hrs.

I have never tried -- does anyone know -- can you plug in a battery pack and have the F3 switch to using it WHILE recording? Works on my MixPre's but I have never tried on my Zoom F3.

I have a small Li-ion 2500mAh power bank, is that enough or do I need more?

Found in the manual...

Estimated continuous operation time using batteries with PHANTOM at 48 V (5 mA):

Alkaline batteries: about 2 hours
NiMH batteries (1900 mAh): about 3 hours
Lithium batteries: about 7.5 hours
