Includes Tony Faukner's initials.

Seems an improved NT5, with higher phantom current draw and no option of P24.  Looked for response and polar graphs but didn't find them on the Rode site.  Press them for including those Tony!  Inquiring minds and more knowledgeable potential customers want to know.

There's a taper using a pair of these for a while now. I've listened to a show or two out of curiosity but the taper's handle escapes me right now.

What did you think upon first listen?

They sounded like the Neumann KM184 to me.

Thanks.  That's intriguing, but since they are around the same price I'd probably go with the Neumanns.  Of course, actual street price might end up lower.

I am absolutely not in the market for new mics, but I had to click for some gear Pr0n.
These come with a nice stereo mounting bar and mic clip mounts. inneresting

I have not tried these, but I expect them to be quite nice as a main pair for acoustic recordings. Considering they have been voiced with the help of Mr. Faulkner and the positive review by Hugh @ SOS magazine, I would certainly consider them worthy of a shoot out.

Maybe me?

I acquired these before the pandemic and they saw some use before and after until I moved onto German-bred mics. There's some outdoor fest samples (which likely have other sources for comparison) as well as matrix recordings here, but more than willing to provide solo mic samples from those shows. I think the NMAS show gives the best impression of these in a good sounding club room (besides chatter  :'(), and maybe the Lettuce set for an outdoor. I also have a Grace Potter show from College Street Music Hall that I've yet to upload. I think these sleek mics are as 'musical' as advertised, and worth their price. I was definitely happy with them but lusted for the active compactness so I let them go.

Response and polar graphs are in the datasheet available on the Rode website:
