Powebank for usb devices like Zoom H6
« on: July 28, 2020, 04:04:33 AM »
I own a Zoom H6 recorder and I'd like to buy a Powerbank ( 20000 mah or less it will be fine) in order to power the recorder through usb 5v input. It would last "forever" and let me use the AA batteries just as a safety option.
I've been reading around that modern powerbanks have a switch off feature as they detect a current draw lower than a certain amount; they act as a rechargeable device is fully charged, so they go in off mode. This feature seems to exclude the use of the powerbank in order to power continuously a Zoom or other recorders.
Do you have any advice/experience of any model which doesn't have the switch off feature or  allows to unselect this option?

Thank you

I use the older model of this one to power my Tascam DR701d, Sound Devices 442 with 4 channels of phantom power and charge my phone. Even with all that draw it lasts 16 hours.

Doesn't shut itself off as long as it's plugged in. When you first plug it in you have to hit the button to make the devices "see it" but that's the only quirk.

There are similar Anker batteries with similar capacity for less money but I haven't used them.
